14th Foundation Anniversary Celebrations...


The Mylapore Trio Amarnath, Surendranath, Aparna and Sugathan – Kalakshera Alumni and Cultural Ambassadors of Mylapore celebrated their Foundation’s 14th Anniversary and 11th year “Kala Poshakam” on Sunday, 15th February, at Tag-P.S.Dakshinamurthi Auditorium, Mylapore.

To commemorate the occasion, Titles and Awards are being conferred on distinguished artists in the field of Dance and Music for many years and this year also distinct artists were honoured appropriately.

Smt. Hemalatha Ramachandran – Guru (Bharatha Kalalayam) was conferred “Nrithya Chinthaamani” and presented Recognition Award in Bharathanatyam. She and her students have been associated with Our Foundation from the beginning.

Smt. Mumbai G. Shilpa – Carnatic Singer and Guru was conferred “Gaana Chinthaamani” and presented Recognition Award in Carnatic Music. She has been with Our Foundation since six years and has participated in our innovative value based events quite enthusiastically.

Both the Gurus were acknowledged for their prowess and achievements in Dance and Music respectively. The Award carried a gold lacquered Temple Kalasam as memento and a Citation.

As a part of the 15th Margazhi Bala Utsavam, Three children were conferred Titles and Talent Awards in their respective fields. Kum. S. Sahaana - “Natya Bala Padmam” for Bharathanatyam, Kum. H.G. Shakambari – “Sangeetha Bala Bushan” for Carnatic Music, Brothers Chi. A. Vignesh and Chi. A. Viswesh – “Vaadhya Bala Vibushan” for Instrumental Music in Keyboard (Carnatic Music). Their Awards consisted of Gold lacquered Crown and a Citation. These children have been a part of Our Foundation for few years and have participated and won laurels in many events and competitions through the years.

On this occasion, Twenty-one winners of 15th “Margazhi Bala Utsavam” received their Proficiency, Multi-Talent, Talent Prizes and also participants of “Bala Vidhwan Bhavani” were given away certificates.

Earlier the awardees presented dance and music performances. Smt.Hemalatha gave a stunning solo Bharathanatyam performance and her students performed a group dance. Smt.Shilpa rendered a mellifluous solo Carnatic vocal concert with orchestra. The three Bala awardees did their best in their respective field.

The auditorium was nearly full with children, parents, guests and rasikas who cheered the artists with their applause and appreciation. The stage décor was of a different variety with chozhies and rajasthani thoranams. To enhance the flavor, all the Foundation members presented themselves in gorgeous traditional attire.










































Special Prize winners of 15th Yr. Margazhi Bala Utsavam 2017

The Special Prizes of "15th Margazhi Bala Utsavam - 2017" viz., Proficiency, Multi Talent, Talent Prizes to 21 children who had won many Prizes in various spectrum of Competitions were given away. 

An array of Kids, Children and Youth decked up in gorgeous traditional Paavadais, Dhaavanis, Sarees, Jewellery, Hairdos, Pyjamas, Kurthas and Dhothies were parading the stage while receiving their Prizes.
